For the first one  I walked with students and took note of everything they wanted to be on the three levels staircase. Then I started painting in the evenings, so, as a game, they found new creatures every morning.

In the second one, the 4th grade students decided it was going to be a time line, so from bottom (Big bang) to top (future) I drew and let them color in groups of 4.
